Safety, which on behalf of and under the Commissioner of Labor
and Industry shall administer the provisions of this subtitle. The
Division of Industrial Safety shall have such clerks, inspectors and
other employees and technical assistants as shall be provided from
time to time in the budget. The Commissioner of Labor and Industry
shall appoint at least six ADDITIONAL INSPECTORS TO BE
DESIGNATED safety inspectors, who shall be qualified and
trained in occupational safety, and who shall be charged with
responsibility for enforcement of safety codes in construction and
other hazardous industries in the State at large, with salaries AND
TRAVEL EXPENSES provided in the annual budget. The Director
and all other full-time employees of the Division of Industrial Safety
shall be subject generally to the provisions of Article 64A of the Code,
title "Merit System."
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 47 of
Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "County Commis-
sioners," as last amended by Chapter 738 of the Laws of 1961,
providing the County Commissioners of St. Mary's County with
an expense allowance for official expenses incurred by them out
of the county.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 47 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "County
Commissioners," as last amended by Chapter 738 of the Laws of
1961, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
47.
The President of the County Commissioners of St. Mary's County,
shall receive a salary of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) per year,
and the other Commissioners shall receive a salary of two thousand
five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) per year.
Each County Commissioner shall keep accurate records of expenses
incurred in the performance of his official duties outside of St.
Mary's County and upon proper presentation he shall be reimbursed
for said expenses, provided, however, that the reimbursement shall
not exceed two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00) per annum for
each commissioner.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
