services for the Juvenile Court and increasing the compensation
of the senior parole officer, supervisor of the department of parole
and probation of Prince George's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 920 and 922 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County (1953 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's County,"
subtitle "Juvenile Causes," as said sections were last amended by
Chapter 790 of the Acts of 1961, be and they are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

920.

The Circuit Court for Prince George's County is authorized and
empowered to designate, appoint and employ one or more qualified
persons to be known as the Master or Masters for Juvenile Causes
of the Circuit Court of Prince George's County, who shall be a mem-
ber of the Bar of the State of Maryland, at an annual salary of
[$8,000.00] $9,000.00 to be paid by the County Commissioners of
Prince George's County. The duties of the Master or Masters for
Juvenile Causes shall be such as may be prescribed by the Judges of
the Circuit Court for Prince George's County.

The Circuit Court also may designate and employ a qualified per-
son to be known as the Substitute Master for Juvenile Causes of the
Circuit Court of Prince George's County who shall be a member of
the Bar of the State of Maryland and receive a salary to be estab-
lished by the County Commissioners in proportion to the salary re-
ceived by the Master for Juvenile Causes, based upon the relative
amounts of time devoted to their duties.

922.

The Circuit Court of Prince George's County is authorized and
empowered to designate, appoint and employ qualified persons for per-
formance of duties, in connection with Juvenile Causes, in the office
of the Clerk of said Court or for probation and parole assignment
under the jurisdiction of said Court and for administration, research,
treatment, psychological, investigative and clerical service for said
Court in relation to Juvenile Causes. Such personnel as may be ap-
pointed by the Court shall perform such duties as may be prescribed
by the Judges of the Circuit Court of Prince George's County, shall
serve in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court or as may be
otherwise prescribed by the Circuit Court, and shall be entitled to
receive such salary and expenses in connection therewith as is al-
lowable for comparable employment by the State of Maryland for
State employees in accordance with the pay scale in effect from time
to time, for State employees of the State of Maryland, the same to
be paid as part of the expense of the office of the Clerk of said Circuit
Court, as is provided by law respecting salaries paid to personnel in
the office of said Clerk, or as may be otherwise prescribed and di-
rected by the Circuit Court or to be paid by the County Commissioners
of Prince George's County as the Circuit Court for said County may
prescribe and direct. The Probation and Parole officers now serving
in Prince George's County, under the direction of the State Depart-
ment of Parole and Probation, for probation and parole purposes,
