(B). IN ADDITION TO THE FOREGOING PROVISIONS OF
THIS SECTION, AND NOT IN SUBSTITUTION THEREOF, THE
DEPARTMENT MAY REQUIRE ANY OPERATOR OR CHAUF-
FEUR UNDER TWENTY-ONE YEARS OF AGE, UPON RE-
CEIVING A RECORD OF ONE FINAL CONVICTION WITHIN
THIS STATE OF AN OFFENSE UNDER THIS ARTICLE IN-
VOLVING A MOTOR VEHICLE ACTUALLY IN MOTION TO
ATTEND THE DRIVERS REHABILITATION CLINIC AS PRO-
VIDED BY THE DEPARTMENT.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 678
(House Bill 459)

AN ACT to add new Section 280A 281A to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Dorchester County (1961 Edition), being Article 10 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Dorchester
County," subtitle "Hawkers and Peddlers," relating to licensing
requirements for door-to-door salesmen and exceptions to require-
ment for license AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLA-
TION.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 280A 281A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Dorchester County (1961 Edition), being Article
10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Dorchester
County," subtitle "Hawkers and Peddlers," to follow immediately
after Section 280 281 of the said Code and to read as follows:

280A. 281A.

(a) No person shall sell, or solicit orders for sale of, any mer-
chandise of any description, including books or periodicals, from
door-to-door of private residences, without a license
IN HIS POSSES-
SION AT ALL TIMES DURING SUCH SOLICITATIONS, WHICH
SAID LICENSE SHALL BE PRODUCED AND SUBJECT TO THE
INSPECTION OF ANY PERSON SO REQUESTING. Provided,
however, that this section shall not apply to farmers or growers sell-
ing their own vegetables or other perishable farm produce or products
or to any person regularly attending school who is under the age of
eighteen (18) years or to vendors of milk or cream, bread, meat,
fuels of petroleum products,
PATENT DRUGS, HOUSEHOLD
FURNISHINGS, cosmetics, fish or other seafood, or newspapers.
It shall be the duty of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of said
County to issue huckster licenses to such persons as may apply for
and be entitled to same according to the provisions of this section
and the amount so received shall be paid to the County Commissioners
of Dorchester County and be credited to the general funds of the
County.
