(House Bill 878)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 464 (b) 6
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953
Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," providing for the appointment of an
"Internal Auditor" for Prince George's County and providing gen-
erally for his compensation and duties.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 464(b) 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1953 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's
County," subtitle "County Commissioners," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

464 (b) 6.

Adopt a system of budgetary control and audit of all county funds.
To facilitate this power and authority, the President of the Board of
County Commissioners is hereby authorized to appoint an "Internal
Auditor" who shall be paid such annual compensation and who shall
have such assistants and duties as the President of the Board of
County Commissioners shall prescribe; provided generally, however,
that the "Internal Auditor" shall, at the request of the President of
the Board of County Commissioners, (1) audit any and all depart-
ments, including any phase of the operations of such departments,
operating under the direction of the Board of County Commissioners
and (2) examine the financial operations of any agency, private or
public, county or bi-county, or otherwise, which receives funds from
the budget of the Board of County Commissioners or from the County
tax revenues as approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
The "Internal Auditor" shall report directly to the Board of County
Commissioners as frequently and in such detail as shall be ordered by
the President of the Board of County Commissioners,

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to add new Section 32 (B) of Article 89B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1962 Supplement), title "State Roads" subtitle
"Distribution and Use of Special Funds," to follow immediately
after Section 32 (A) thereof authorizing the State Roads Com-
mission to expend a sum not to exceed Two Million ($2,000,000.00)
ONE MILLION ($1,000,000.00) Dollars to defray certain engin-
eering and other costs in connection with the construction of a
