TO A POINT APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET SOUTH OF SCOTT
DRIVE AND 500 FEET EAST OF CARRIAGE COURT; THENCE
PARALLEL TO AND APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET SOUTH OF
SCOTT DRIVE, IN A NORTHWESTERLY DIRECTION, TO AN
INTERSECTION WITH GLEN MILL ROAD; THENCE FOLLOW-
ING GLEN MILL ROAD NORTHEASTWARD TO ITS INTER-
SECTION WITH STATE ROAD #28 AND THE POINT OF BE-
GINNING.

(3) (2) All of the Gaithersburg Election District (No. 9) not pre-
viously included, within said District, excepting therefrom however
the cities of Gaithersburg and Washington Grove.

(4) All of the Olney Election District (No. 8) not previously in-
cluded within said District.
EXCLUDING, HOWEVER, THE VIL-
LAGE OF BROOKEVILLE, AS ITS CORPORATE LIMITS ARE
DEFINED AS OF THE DATE OF THE PASSAGE OF THIS ACT.

(5) (3) All of the Colesville Election District (No. 5) not pre-
viously included within said District.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency law and necessary for the immediate pres-
ervation of the public health and safety, and being passed upon yea
and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to
each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 580
(Senate Bill 306)

AN ACT to add new Section 31A to Article 11 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Banks and Trust Companies",
sub-title "Banks", to follow immediately after Section 31 thereof,
prohibiting foreign corporations from conducting a banking busi-
ness in this State, with exceptions.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 31A be and it is hereby added to Article 11 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Banks and Trust
Companies", sub-title "Banks", to follow immediately after Section
31 thereof, to read as follows:

31A. No foreign banking corporation, except a national banking
association having its main office in this state, shall maintain any
office within the state to solicit deposits or to conduct a general bank-
ing, a savings banking or a banking and trust business.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety, and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of the members
elected to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.
