Commissioners, at their discretion, to add county employees to
Classified Service.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 45D of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title "Classi-
fied Service", as last amended by Chapter 347 of 1961, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

45D. Unless the context otherwise requires: "County Commis-
sioners" means the County Commissioners of St. Mary's County;
"Commissioner of Personnel" means State Commissioner of Per-
sonnel; "Classified Service" means and includes the following offices
and positions: All employees of the County Roads Department, in-
cluding hourly rate employees and all employees of the Department
of Civil Defense [;] , and such other employees of the County as the
Commissioners may designate; "Classified Position" or "Position"
means any office in the classified service; "Classified Service Em-
ployee" or "Employee" means a person who holds, under the terms
of this sub-title, a position in the classified service, but shall not
include a person employed by contract to render a temporary or
special service for the county.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal Section 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Cecil County (1961 Edition, being Article 8 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Cecil County", sub-title "Building
Permits", and to repeal said sub-title, repealing an obsolete and un-
necessary local law of Cecil County concerning the issue and use
of building permits.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Cecil County
(1961 Edition, being Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Cecil County", sub-title "Building Permits", be and
it is hereby repealed; and that said sub-title be and it is hereby
repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
