His Lordship    Kent County fst Be it remembered that on the
agt                     day of            Anno Dom. seventeen hundred
Jno. Burk    thirty and eight personally Appeared John James before
me the Subscriber One of his Lordships Justices of the peace for the afd
County & Acknowledged himself Indebted to his Lordship the right honourable
the Lord propry of Maryld in the sum of five pounds Currt. money of Maryld
afd to be made & Leveyed on his body goods & Chattles Lands & Tenements
for the Use of his said Lordship his heirs & Successors With Condition
to this recoge. that John James do make his personall Appe. before the
Justices of Our next County Court to be held at Our Court house in the
Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of November next
then and there to Testifie in behalf of his Lordship against the afd Jno.
Burk Then this recoge. to be Void Else to remain in full force in Law

Kent County fst The Jurors for the right honourable the Lord
Propry that now is for the body of Kent County afd upon their Oath do
present that John Burk late of Saint pauls parish in the County
afd Labourer the fifteenth day of Octobr. in the year of Our Lord God
seventeen hundred & thirty eight at the parish afd in the County afd
& within the Jurisdiction of this Court with force & Arms in & upon a
certain Wm. Barry in the peace of God & of the said Lord propry then
& there being an Assault did make & him the same Wm. then & there did
beat wound & evilly treat so that of his life it was greatly dispaired and
other harms to him then & there did to the great damage of the same
William and against the peace of the same Lord Propry his good
rule & Government &c                  D Dulany pr Do. propry
On the Back of the afd Indictmt. was Indorsed as fol. Vizt.
                 Billa Vera Matthew Howard Foreman
And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court house in the
Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of Novemr. being the
fourteenth day of said month in the year of Our Lord seventeen hundred
thirty & eight Cometh the afd Lord propry by Daniel Dulany his Attry
and prayeth that the afd John Burk to the Indictmt afd may Answer
And the afd John Burk in his proper person comes & defends
the force and injury when &c And saith that he cannot gainsay the
Indictment afd so as afd against him brought nor can he say but that
he is guilty of the premisses afd above upon him Imposed as by the
Indictment afd it is Alledged and thereof Submits to the Court &c
Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at Kent
County Court at the Court house in the Town of Chester in said County
on the third tuesday of Novemr. being the fourteenth day of said
month in the year of Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty & Eight
that the afd John Burk pay the sum of two pounds Current
money of Maryland as a fine for Committing the Offence afd
