Ordered by this Court here that Willm. Graves his Recoge taken as afd
be Discharged as prayed       William Graces his recognizance
taken as afd is by this Court here Discharged there being no cause
Shewn to the Contrary &c. Att Which said day & year afd Cometh Jackson
Griffith here into Court and prayeth that his recognizance taken as afd
for the Appearance of the afd William to this Court may be Discharged

agt    on the thirtyeth day of Sepr. in the year of Our Lord
Elisha Reed    seventeen hundred thirty & eight personally Appd.
Elisha Reed & Caleb Beck before me the Subscriber One of his Lordsps
Justices of the Peace for the afd County and Acknowledged themselves
to be Indebted to his Lordship the right honrble the Lord propry of
Maryland in the sum of ten pounds Current money of the province
afd each to be made and Leveyed on their bodys goods & Chattles
Lands & Tenemts. for the Use of his said Lordship his heirs &
Successors With Condition to this recognize. that Elisha Reed
do make his personall Appe. before the Justices of Our next Coty
Court to be held at Our Court house in the Town of Chester in said
County on the third tuesday of Novemr next then and there to Answr
unto Such things as Shall be Objected against him on Suspicion
of Fornication Then this recoge. to be void Else to remain in full
force in Law                                  Ebenezr. Blackistone
Kent County fst The Jurors for the right honourable the Lord propry
that now is for the body of Kent County upon their Oath do prsent
that Elisha Reed late of Kent County Labourer on the first day of
Aprill Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred & thirty eight at Kent County afd
did Committ fornication with a Certain Jane Reed and then & there
had carnal knowledge of the said Jane & then & there did beget on
the body of her the said Jane a Bastard Child against the peace &c
and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such case made and
provided &c                                       J George
On the Back of the afd Indictmt. was Indorsed as fol. Vizt.
                       A True Bill Chrisr. Hall forman
