Lord propry of Maryld in the sum of five hundred pounds of tobo each
to be made & Leveyed on their bodys goods & Chattles Lands & Tenements for
the use of the Said Lordship his heirs & Successors With Condition to this
Recognizance that Daniel Flinn afd do pay the fees Accrueing on the
Premisses afd to the Officers of this Court then this recognize to be Void
Else to remain in full force power and Virtue in Law

His Lordship    Command was given to the sher. of Kent Coty
agt    on the 19th day of August in the 24th year of his Ldps
William Pope    Domn. &c in the year of Our Lord God seventeen hundred
thirty & Eight that he should take William Pope late of St. pauls parish in
the County afd Labourer if he should be found in his Bailwick & him safe
keep so that he have his body before the Justices of Our next County Cort
to be held at Our Court house in the Town of Chester in said County on
the third tuesday of Novr. next to Answer unto a Certain Presentmt
for Assaulting John Finch &c And that the said sher. have at the time
& place afd the said Writt &c And now here to wit at Kent County Cort.
at the Court house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday
of Novemr. being the fourteenth day of said month in the year of Our Ld
seventeen hundred thirty & eight Cometh Simon Wilmer Gent. sher. of
Kent County & made return thereof to the Court here thereon Indorsed
as fol. Vizt Cepi Corpus pr S. Wilmer Sher Kent County Court
Kent County fst The Jurors for the right honourable the Lord propry
that now is for the body of Kent County afd upon their Oath do prsent
that Wm. Pope Late of Saint pauls pauls parish in the County afd
Labourer the tenth day of August in the year of Our Lord seventeen
hundred thirty & eight at the parish afd in the County afd & within the
Jurisdiction of this Court in & upon John Finch in the peace of God &
of the said Lord Propry then and there being then & there with force & Arms
an Assault did make & the same John then & there did beat wound & evilly
treat so that of his life it was greatly dispaired & other harms to him
then & there did to the great damage of the same John & against the pea[ce]
of God & the said Lord propry his good rule & Government &c    Francis
On the Back of the afd Indictmt was Indorsed in these following Words
Vizt Billa Vera pr John Brown Foreman     Grd. Jury
And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court house in the
Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of Novemr. being
the fourteenth day of said month in the year of Our Lord seventeen
hundred thirty & eight Cometh the afd Lord propry by Tench Francis
