[8]2 the Court house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of Novemr being the fourteenth day of said month in the year of Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty & eight Cometh the afd Lord Propry by Tench Francis his Attorney and prayeth that the afd Margaret to the Indictiment afd may Answer And the afd Margaret in her proper person comes and defends the force and injury when &c And saith that she is in no Sort guilty of the premisses afd above upon her Imposed as by the afd Indictment it is Alledged and thereof puts herself upon the Country &c And he who followeth for the Lord propry in like manner Saith she is guilty &c Thereupon Command was given to the sherr. of Kent Coty [ whom &c who neither &c to recognizce &c because as well &c of which said precept the said sher. to wit Simon Wilmer Gent. now here at this day to wit the fourteenth day of Novemr. in the year afd last mentioned makes return that he hath here ready twelve &ca. as by his precept he was Commanded And now here afterwards to wit the day & Year last mentd Come again the afd Lord propry by his Attry afd and the afd Margaret in her proper person and the Jurors of that Jury being Impannelled & called likewise come to wit Christopher Hall, Richd. Wilson, Benjamin Black: :istone, Thomas Hatcheson, Hans Hanson junr, Willm. Yearley, Thomas Bordley, Nathl Rickets, John Reed, John Clark, Thomas Sanders, Chrisr. Bateman Who being duely Elected tried & Sworn to say the truth in the Premisses And the same Margarett Appearing to the Verdict of the Jurors afd And upon their Oath do say that the afd Margarett Wood is not Guilty as She stands Indicted and by Christopher Hall their formn All so Say &c Therefore |
