On the Back of the afd Indictment was Indorsed as fol. Vizt.
                 Billa Vera pr. Jno. Brown Foreman
And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court
house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday
of Novemr. being the fourteenth day of said month in the year of
Our Lord Seventeen hundred thirty & eight Cometh the afd Lord
Propry by his Attorney afd and prayeth that the afd Francis
to the Indictment may Answer
And the afd Francis in his proper person comes &
Defends the force & injury when &c And saith that he cannnot
gainsay the Indictment afd so as against him brought
nor can he say but that he is guilty of the premisses afd above
upon him Imposed as by the afd Indictment it is Alledged
& thereupon Submits to the Court
Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to
wit at Kent County Court at the Court house in the Town of
Chester in said County on the third tuesday of November
being the fourteenth day of said month in the year of Our Lord
seventeen hundred thirty and eight that the afd Francis Jones
pay the sum of five Shillings Current money of Maryld
as a fine for Committing the afd Offence Also it is
Considered by the Justices afd at the time & place afd last
mentioned that the said Francis Jones pay the sum of
Eighty Six pounds of tobacco Costs Accrueing on the prsses
afd to the Officers of this Court &ca
Ordered by this Court here that the fine afd be delivered
the sherr. of Kent COunty & Simon Wilmer Gentn. sherr.
of Kent County being present here in Court Acknow:
