Kent County    Be it remembered that at a County Court
in    held at the Court house in the Town of Chester in the
Maryland    Same County on the fifteenth day of November
in the twenty fourth Year of Our Dominion of the Right honourable
Charles Absolute Lord and propry of the Provinces of Maryld
and Avalon Lord Barron of Baltemore &ca. And in the Year
of Our Lord Christ seventeen hundred thirty & eight

His Lordship    Kent County fst The Jurors for the
agt    Right Honourable the Lord Propry that
Francis Jones    now is for the body of Kent County afd upon
their Oath do present that Francis Jones late of St pauls
parish in the County afd Gentleman the tenth day of July
Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred thirty and eight at the parish
afd in the County afd and within the Jurisdiction of this Court
in & upon William Simcocks in the peace of God & of the
said Lord propry then & there being with force and Arms an
Assault did make & the same William then & there did
beat wound & evilly treat so that of his life it was greatly
Dispaired and other harms to him then and there did to
the great damage of the same Wm. & against the peace of
the said Lord Propry his good rule & Government &ca.
