guilty of the premisses afd Above against him Imposed
as by the Indictment afd it is Alledged And thereupon
Submitts to the Court
Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at
Kent County Court at the Court house in the Town of Chester
in said County on the third tuesday of August being the fifteenth
day of said month in the Year of Our Lord seventeen hundred
thirty and eight that the afd Benjamin Palmer pay the
Sum of five pounds Current money of Maryland as a fine
for the Assault & Battery afd Also it is Considered
by the Justices afd at the time & place last mentioned that
the said Benjamin pay the sum of two hundred and
ninety Seven pounds of tobacco Costs Accrueing on the
premisses afd to the Officers of this Court &c
Ordered by this Court here that the fine afd be
delivered the sherriff of Kent County And William
Harris Gentleman sherr. present here in Court Acknow:
:ledgeth the receipt of the Same
Ordered by this Court here that the afd Benjamin
enter into recognizance with Security for the Fees Accrue:
:ing on the premisses afd to the Severall Officers of
this Court
Thereupon Benjamin Palmer & George Hall
of Kent County Planters And present here in Court in
their proper persons Acknowledges themselves Indebted
unto his Lordship the Lord propry of Maryland in
the Sum of five hundred pounds of tobacco Each to
be made and Leveyed on his body lands and Chattles
Lands and Tenements for the Use of his said Lord:
:ship his heirs and Successors With Condition to
this Recognizance that Benjamin Palmer do pay
the Fees Accrueing on the premsses afd to the Officers

of
