the Constable of            Hundred in the County afd for
Assaulting and beating
of the same parish and County planter and the said Josh.
Whittington so then and there for the cause afd being
Arrested and under the Custody and Charge of the same
William Mc.Clean safely to be carried by him the said
William Mc.Clean before some One of the said Lord
Propry his Justices Assigned to conserve the peace in
the County afd by the same Justice then & there to be
examined of & Concerning the Assault & Battery afd &
to do & receive further what in that part concerning the
Same Assault & battery should be required being he the
said William Mc.Clean then and there did require and in
the name of the said Lord propry Command Stephen
Bordley of the same parish and County Gentleman then
and there to Aid & Assist him the said William Mc.Clean
to bring & Convey him the said Joseph Whittington before
Charles Hynson Gent. then one of the said Lord propry
his Justices to keep the peace in the County afd and
divers felonies Trespasses and other Malefeazances
in the said County perpetrated to hear and determine
                 ing
Assigned be^ for the purpose afd Nevertheless the said
Stephen Bordley to do the same then and there altoge:
:ther did refuse and Contemptuously deny to the
Manifest Contempt of the said Lord propry to the Evil
and pernicious Example of all others in such case
Offending and against the peace of the said Lord propry
his good rule & Government Wherefore the same Attry
of the said Lord propry for the same Lord propry prayeth
the Advise of the Court here in the premisses And that
due process of Law here in this part against the said
Stephen Bordley may be made to Answer unto the sd.
