house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday
of August being the fifteenth day of said month in the Year of
Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty and eight cometh the afd
Lord propry by his Attorney afd and prayeth that the afd
Joseph Nicholson to the Information afd may Answer
And the afd Joseph in his proper person cometh and defends
the force and injury when &c. And saith that he cannot gainsay
the Indictment afd so as afd against him brought nor can
he say but that he is guilty of the presmisses afd above upon
him Imposed as by the Information afd it is Alledged and
thereof Submitts to the Court
Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at
Kent County Court at the Court house in the Town of Chester in
said County on the third tuesday of August being the fifteenth
day of said month in the year of Our Lord Seventeen hundred
thirty and eight that the afd Joseph Nicholson pay the sum
of ten shillings Current money of Maryland as a fine for
refuseing to Aid and Assist the Constable afd As Also
it is Considered by the Justices afd at the time and place
afd last mentioned that the said Joseph pay the sum of
                          pounds of tobacco Costs Accrueing
on the premisses afd to the Officers of this Court &c.
Ordered by this Court here that the fine afd be delivered the
sherr. of Kent COunty and William Harris Gent. sherr. of
Kent County and present here in Court Acknowledgeth the
Receipt of the Same

His Lordship    Command was given to the
agt    sherr. of Kent County on the
Stephen Bordley    24th day of June in the 24th
Year of Our Dominion &ca in the Year of Our
Lord 1738 that he should take Stephen Bordley late
