of August being the fiftenth day of said month in the year
of Our Lord Seventeen hundred thirty & eight Cometh William
Harris Gent. sherr. of Kent County and made return thereof
to the Court here thereon Indorsed as foll. Vizt.
           Cepi Corpa. pr W Harris sherr. Kent Coty
Kent County fst The Jurors for the Right honourable
the Lord propry that now is for the body of Kent County afd
Upon their Oath do present that Elizabeth Kenslaugh
late of Saint Pauls Parish in the County afd Spinster the
tenth day of October Anno Domini seventeen hundred thirty
& seven at the parish afd in the County afd and within the
Jurisdiction of this Court did committ fornication with a
certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did
permit the same unknown person then and there to have
carnal knowledge of her body and to beget a bastard child
on her body Contrary to the form of the Act of Assembly
in such case provided &c.                  Francis
On the Back of the afd Indictment was Indors'd as fol. Vizt
                 Billa Vera James Ringgold form.
And now here to wit at Kent County afd at the Court house
in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday
of August being the fifteenth day of said month in the
Year of Our Lord Seventeen hundred thirty & eight
cometh the afd Lord propr. by his Attorney afd and prayeth
that the afd Elizabeth to the Indictment afd may Answer
And the afd Elizabeth in her proper person comes
and defends the force and injury when &c. and saith
that She cannot gainsay the Indictment afd so as
afd Against her brought nor can She say but that
she is Guilty of the premisses afd above Upon her
Imposed as by the Indictment afd it is Alledged and
