thereof Submits to the Court
Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at Kent Coty
at the Court house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third
tuesday of August being the fifteenth day of said month in the year
of Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty & eight that the afd Elizth.
pay the sum of One pound ten shillings Current money of
Maryland as a fine for Committing the fornication afd
Also it is Considered by the Justices afd at the time and
place last mentioned that the said Elizabeth pay the sum
of three hundred & sixty One pounds of tobacco Costs
Accrueing on the premisses afd to the Officers of this Court
&ca.                                 Jams Smith Clk
Ordered by this Court here that the fine afd be delivered
the sherr. of Kent County and William Harris Gent. sherr.
of Kent County and present here in Court Acknowledgeth
the receipt of the same
Ordered by this Court here that the afd Elizabeth give
Security to keep the County harmless from the maintanance
of the bastard child afd
Thereupon Alexander Beck & John Tillard of Kent Coty
planters present here in Court in their proper persons
Acknowledgeth themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the
Right honourable the Lord Propry of Maryland in the
sum of five thousand pounds of tobacco each to be made
and Leveyed on their bodys goods and Chattles lands
and Tenements for the Use of his siad Lordship his
heirs and Successors With Condition to this recognizance
that She the said Elizabeth do keep the County harmless
from the maintainance of the Bastard child afd Then
this recognizance to be void Else to remain in full
force in Law
Ordered by this Court here that the afd Elizabeth
give Security for the Fees Accrueing on the premisses
