And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court
house in Chester Town in the County afd on the third tuesday of
August being the twenty first day of said month in the year of Our
Lord seventeen hundred thirty & nine cometh the afd Lord propry by
Joshua George his Attorney and prayeth that the afd Mary to the
Indictment afd may Answer                  And the afd Mary
in her proper person comes and defends the force and injury
when &c and saith that She cannot gainsay the Indictment
afd so as afd against her brought nor can she say but that
She is guilty of the premisses afd above upon her Imposed
as by the afd Indictment it is Alledged and thereof Submitts to
the Court                           Therefore it is Considered
by the Justices here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court
house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third
tuesday of August being the twenty first day of said month in
the year of Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty & nine that the
afd Mary pay the sum of thirty Shillings Current money as
a fine According to Act of Assembly for committing the forni:
:cation afd Also it is Considered that the said Mary pay
the sum of                                            pounds of tobacco
Costs accrueing on the premisses afd to the Severall
Officers of this Court &c
Ordered by this Court here that the fine afd be delivered
the sherriff of Kent County And Simon Wilmer Gent. sher.
of the County afd Acknowledgeth the receipt of the Same
Att Which said day & year afd last above mentioned cometh
the afd Mary here into Court in her proper person & prayeth
that her & her Suretys recognize. taken as afd may be Dischd.
Ordered by this Court here that Mary Harvey John Jones &
& Robert Key their recognizances taken as afd be Discharged
as prayed                  Mary Harvey John Jones &
Robert Key their recognizances taken as afd is by this
Court here Discharged there being no cause shewn to
the Contrary                           Jams Smith Cl.
