His Lordship    Command was given to the sher. of
agt    Kent County on the 24th day of June in
Mary Bryan    the 24th year of Our Lordships dominn.
&ca. in the year of Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty & eight
that he should take Mary Bryan late of Shewbury parish
Spinster If She should be found in his Bailwick & her safe
keep so that he have her body before the Justices of Our
next County Court to be held at our Court house in the Town
of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of August
next to Answer unot an Indictment of Fornication And
that the said sherr. have at the time and place afd the said
Writt &c.
And now here to wit at Kent County afd at the Court house in
the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of Augst.
being the fifteenth day of said month in the year of Our
Lord seventeen hundred thirty & eight Cometh William
Harris Gent. sherr. of Kent County and made return thereof
to the Court here thereon Indorsed as fol. Vizt.
                 Cepi Corpa. pr. W. Harris sherr. Kent Coty
Kent County fst. The Jurors for the right honourable the
Lord propry. that now is for the body of Kent County afd
Upon their Oath do present that Mary Bryan late
of Shrewbury parish in the County afd Spinster the tenth
day of March Anno Domini seventeen hundred thirty &
seven at the parish afd in the County afd and within the
Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ fornication with a
certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permit
the same unknown person then and there to have carnal
knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a bastard
Child on the body of her the same Mary To the high
displeasure of Almighty God to the evill Example of all
others in such case Offending Contrary to the peace of
the said Lord propry. his good rule and Government
And against the form of the Act of Assembly in such
