His Lordship    Kent County fst The Jurors for
agt    the right honourable the Lord propry
Mollatto Jane Servt.    that now is for the body of Kent County afd
to Thomas Crow    upon their Oath do present that Mollatto
Jane late of Kent County Spinster Servant to Thomas Crow on
the first day of October Anno Domini Seventeen hundred and thirty
                                                    Negro           the
eight at the County afd fornication with a Certain ^ Man to ^ Jurors
                                     Negro Man
unknown did committ and the same ^ person then & there did
permitt to have carnall knowledge of her body and then &
there a Bastard child to begett against the peace &c And
against the form of the Act of Assembly in such case made and
provided                                                                J George
On the Back of the afd Indictment was Indorsed as fol.
                          Billa Vera Natha. Hynson foremn.
And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court
house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday
of August being the twenty first day of said month in the year
of Our Lord Seventeen hundred thirty & nine cometh the afd Lord
propry by Joshua George his Attorney and prayeth that the
afd Jane to the Indictment afd may Answer
And the afd Jane in her proper person comes and
                                                    saith
defends the force and injury when &c And prayeth ^ that she
cannot gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against her
brought nor can She say But that she is Guilty of the prsses
afd above upon her Imposed as by the afd Indictment
it is alledged And thereof Submits to the Court
Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at
Kent County Court at the Court house in the Town of Chester
in said County on the third tuesday of August being the twenty
first day of said month in the year of Our Lord seventeen
hundred thirty & nine that the afd Jane pay the sum of
                                pounds of tobacco costs accrueing
on the premisses afd to the Severall Officers of this
