month in the year of Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty and
nine at Kent County Court afd cometh Simon Wilmer Gent.
sher. of Kent County afd And makes return thereof to the
Court here thereon Indorsed as fol. Vizt
                          Cepi Corpus pr S Wilmer sher.
Kent County fst The Jurors for the right honourable the
Lord propry that now is for the body of Kent County afd
upon their Oath do present that Margarett English
late of Kent County Widow Spinster on the first day of May
anno Dom. seventeen hundred & thirty Eight at Kent County
afd did committ fornication with a Certain man to the
Jurors unknown and the same person then & there did
permitt to have carnall knowledge of her body and then &
there to begett on the body of the said Margarett English
a Bastard child to the Evill Example of others in the like
case offending and against the peace &c Against the form of
the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided &c

On the Back of the afd Indictment was Indorsed as fol. Vizt
                          Billa Vera Chrisr. Hall forem.
And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court
house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third
tuesday of August being the twenty first day of said month in
the year of Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty & nine cometh
the afd Lord propry by Joshua George his Attorney And prayeth
that the afd Margarett to the Indictment afd may Answer
And the afd Margarett in her proper person comes &
defends the force and injury when &c And saith that she
cannot gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against her
brought nor can She say but that She is guilty of the
premisses afd above upon her Imposed as by the afd
Indictment it is alledged and thereof Submits to the
Court                           Therefore it is Considered
