On the Back of the afd Indictment was Indorsed as fol. Vizt
                          Billa Vera Jams. Ringgold forem.
And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court
house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday
of June being the nineteenth day of said month in the Year of
Our Lord Seventeen hundred thirty & nine cometh the afd Lord
propry by Joshua George his Attorney and prayeth that
the afd John Mc.Donald to the Indictment afd may Answer
And the afd John in his proper person comes and defends the
force and injury when &c And prayeth Saith that he is no
Sort Guilty of the premisses afd above upon him Imposed as by
the afd Indictment it is as Alledged and thereof he putteth
himself Upon the Country
And he who fol. for the Lord propry in like manner
Saith he is Guilty                           J George pr Ld pry
Thereupon Command was given to the sher. of Kent County
that he Immediately Cause to come here twelve &c by whom
&c who neither &c To recognize &c because as well &c of wch
said present the said sher. to wit Simon Wilmer Gentleman
now here at this day to wit the nineteenth day of June in the
year of Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty & nine make return
that he hath here ready twelve &c As by his precept he was
Commanded And now here afterwards to wit the day & year
last mentioned come again the afd Lord Propry by his Attorney
afd And the afd John in his proper person And the Jurors of
that Jury being Impannelled and called likewise came to wit
James Ringgold, Nathaniel Ricketts, Henry Turlock
Francis Barney, Bullmn. Medford, Samuel Mansfeild,
James Wright, Michael Hackett, Grffith Jones, Richard
Peacock, Robert Mansfeild, & John Wallis Who being
duely Elected tried & Sworn to Say the truth in the prsses
the same John the prisoner Appearing to the Verdict the
Jurors afd Upon their Oath do say that John Mc.Donald
is Guilty as he stands Indicted And by their foreman all
