His Lordship    Ordered by this Court here that Duceus Tecum
agt    be Issued for the afd Maths. Pooley returnable
Mathias Pooly    to the next March Court &c
Command was given to the sherr. of Kent County on the ninteenth
day of Augst. in the 24th. year of Our Domn. &c in the Year of Our
Lord Seventeen hundred thirty and eight that he should take Matthias
Pooley late of St. Pauls Parish in the County afd Labourer If he
should be found in his Bailwick and him safe keep so that he
have his body before the Justices of Our next County Court to be
held at Our Court house in the Town of Chester in said County on the
third tuesday of Novemr. next to Answer unto a Certain Indictmt. of
Assault And that the said sherr. have at the time & place afd the
said Writt &c And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the
Court house in the Town of Chester in said County on the Third tuesday
of Novemr. being the fourteenth day of said month in the year of
Our Lord One thousand seven hundred thirty & eight afd Cometh
Simon Wilmer Gentn. sher. of Kent County & makes return
thereof to the Court here thereon Indorsed as fol. Vizt
           Cepi Languedum the 8th. Sepr. 1738 pr S. Wilmer sher. Kt. Coty
Orderd by this Court here that John Hodges enter into Recoge.
for his Appearance as an Evidence in behalf of his Lordship
against the afd Mathias Pooley to next March Court to be held at
Our Court house in the Town of Chester said County on the third
tuesday of the same month &c       Thereupon John Hodges of
Kent County Planter and present here in Court Acknowledgeth
himself to be Indebted to his Lordship the right honrble the Lord
Propry of Maryland of in the sum of five pounds currt. money
of the province afd to be made & Leveyed on his body goods &
Chattles Lands and Tenements for the Use of his said Lordship
his heirs and Successors With Condition to this recoge. that
You the said John Hodges do make your personall Appeare.
before the Justices of Our next County Court to be held at Our
Court house in the Town of Chester in said County on the
third tuesday of March next to Give in Evidence in behalf
of his Lordship against the afd Mathias Pooley for Assaulting
of him the afd John Then this recognizance to be Void Else
to stand & remain in full force power and Virtue in Law
Ordered by this Court here as above said that Duceus Tecum
be Issued against the afd Mathias Pooley returnable to
the next March Court to be held at the time & place afd &c
