in the sum of twenty pounds Currt. money of Maryld. afd Joseph
Reed and Samll. Lowman in the sum of ten pounds Currt. as afd each
to be made and Leveyed on their bodys goods and Chattles Lands and
Tenements for the Use of his said Lordship his heirs & Successors With
Condition to this recoge. that Jane Reed afd do make her prSonall
Appe. before the Justices of Our next County Court to be held at Our Cort.
house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of
March next then and there to answer unto an Indictmt. of Forn.
Then this recoge. to be Void Else to remain in full force in Law

His Lordship    We of the Grand Jury do present John
agt    Thomas for Assaulting Caleb Beck
Jno. Thomas                     Matthew Howard foreman
Command was given to the sher. of Kent County on the
fourteenth day of Novemr. in the twenty fourth day of Novemr in
Year of Our Domn. &c in the year of Our Lord Seventeen hundred &
thirty eight that he should take John Thomas late of Kent County
Labourer if he should be found in his Bailwick & him safe keep
so that he have his body before the Justices of this Court Immediately
to Answer unto a presentmt. for Assaulting Caleb Beck
And that the said sher. have at the time & place afd the said
Writt &c And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court
house in the Town of Chester in said County on the third tuesday of
Novemr. being the fourteenth day of said month in the year of
Our Lord seventeen hundred thirty & eight Cometh Simon Wilmer
Gentn. sher. of Kent County & made return thereof to the Court
here thereon Indorsed as fol. Vizt. Cepi Corpus pr Simon Wilmer Sher.
Kent County fst The Jurors for the right honrble the Lord propry
that now is for the body of Kent County afd Upon their Oath do
Present that John Thomas late of Shewsbury Parish in Kent
County afd Planter the tenth day of Novr. in the year of Our Lord
seventeen hundred thirty & eight at the Parish afd in the County afd
and within the Jurisdiction of this Court with force & Arms in & upon
a Certain Caleb Beck in the peace of God & of the same Lord propry
then & there being an Assault did make and him the same Caleb then
and there did beat wound & evilly treat so that of his life it was much
dispaired and other harms to him the same Caleb then & there did to the
great damage of the same Caleb & against the peace of the same
Lord Propry his good rule & Governmt. &c D Dulany pr Dno. propry
On the Back of the afd Indictmt. was Indorsed in these fol. words to
wit                  True Bill pr Matthew Howard foreman
And now here to wit at Kent County Court at the Court house
