pay the Independent Gray's, the Baltimore City Guard's, the
Well's and McComas Riflemen, the Law Gray's, and the
Marion Reserve Guards, military companies in the city of
Baltimore, for services rendered in suppressing a riot on the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, in May, 1857, by the orders of
the Governor;
