A bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act passed at the
January session, 1856, chapter 299, requiring J. H. Hynes,
S. P. Storm and Pleasant Hunter, late sheriffs of Baltimore
county, to make statements to the Comptroller of the
amount of State taxes due from them, and to pay the same
into the treasury, at such times and on such conditions as are
therein provided ;
Being on its second reading,
Mr. Smith, of Baltimore county, proposed the following
amendment:
In section 2, line 6, strike out " thirty," and insert
"sixty;"
Which was assented to, and
The bill, as amended, was read the second time, and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading ;
The said bill was then read the third time, by special
