Ordered, That the counties and the city of Baltimore be
now called in the order of their usual precedence and each
county shall have the right to call two bills, and the city of
Baltimore four, which shall be read the second and third time
and finally acted upon ;             

Mr. Thruston proposed the following amendment:
"And the roll of counties shall be reversed in the call;"
Mr. McPherson proposed the following amendment:

"Every two members shall be entitled to one bill, and odd
Delegates shall not count."

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills.

A bill entitled, an act to establish a uniform system of
public schools in Cecil county;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays, with proposed amend-
ments."

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED:

Article 2. sec. —, line 4, strike out "third Wednesday of
March," and insert "first Wednesday of May."

In article 1, sec. 5, lines 15 and 16, strike out "constitu-
tion or."

In article 1st, sec. 15, lines 2 and 3, strike out "and are
hereby required on or before the first day of April next," and
insert "whenever, in their discretion, they shall deem it pro-
per."

In article 1st, sec. 1, line 13, strike out "never," and insert
"shall not exceed twelve cents in the one hundred dollars
or.".

In article 2, sec. 1, after the word "county," in line 3,
insert "except the funds appropriated to the Elkton and
West Nottingham Academies."

Add to sec. 6, in article 1, "provided that this section shall
have no application to the rights, property and funds vested
in or appropriated to the Elkton and West Nottingham
Academies."
