REPORT:
The majority of the committee on Elections, to which com-
mittee was referred the case of the election in Washington
county, for a member of this House, wherein Messrs. James
W. Leggett and Charles J. Nesbitt appear, by the testimony
in said case, to be claimants to a seat in the House of Dele-
gates, beg leave to report:
That having carefully considered the case so presented to
them, your committee, as aforesaid, they find that between
the said claimants a tie exists, and they do therefore submit
the following resolution:
Resolved, That the Speaker of the House of Delegates be,
and he is hereby requested, at once to issue his warrant for
the election of one member of this House, from Washington
county, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the tie now existing
by reason of the recent election in said county;
Which was read.
Mr. Mackubin, moved that the report be laid on the table.
