tee on Ways and Means.

Also, the bill entitled, an act to preserve certain unpaten-
ted certificates of surveys, in the Land Office of Maryland;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Ways and Means.

Also, a bill entitled, an act to authorise James T. Dickin-
son and John L. Porter, executors of Priscilla Porter, de-
ceased, to sell at private sale certain negro slaves;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, an referred to the commit-
tee on Colored Populations.

Also, the bill entitled, an act to make valid a certain deed
from James D. Sturgis and Sarah A. Sturgis, his wife, to
Henry J. P. Dickinson;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Judiciary.

Also, the bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act, passed
December session 1818, chapter 184, entitled an act for the
better protection of slaveholders in the counties therein

mittee on Colored Population ;

A bill entitled, an act to exempt the Parsonage property
now belonging to the Methodist Protestant Church, situated
in Uniontown, Carroll county, from taxation; also,

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the County Commis-
sioners of Harford county, to re-survey the public roads in
said county, and to remove obstructions therefrom; also,

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the Cumberland Coal
and Iron Company, to convert a portion of its capital into
shares of preferred stock, and to issue its bonds, secured by
mortgage, or by deed of trust; also,

A bill entitled, an act for the relief of the sureties on, the
bond of William Goldsborough, former collector of taxes of
Queen Anne's county; also,

A bill entitled, an act to compensate Charles J. M. Gwinn,
for cases argued in the Court of Appeals, under the direction
of the Governor of Maryland; also,
