The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act to repeal an act of 1856, chapter 354
entitled an act to incorporate the Patapsco Bank of Maryland;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays:"

A bill entitled, an act to allow the clerks of the Circuit
courts for Washington and Prince George's counties, further
time within which to place their fees in the hands of the sher-
iff's for collection, and repealing the 11th section of the act
of 1779, chapter 25, so far as relates to said counties;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays:"

A bill entitled, an act for the relief of Robert Digges, of
Charles county;
Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays:"

A bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money for
the payment of the claims of Alward Johnson, Richard Bra-
shears, James Campbell, James H. League and L. G. Taylor;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays:

The bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money,
to pay W. A. Spencer, Clerk of the Court of Appeals of
Maryland, and Jno. Palmer, late Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Queen Anne's county, for fees due by them;

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Dail, proposed the following amendments:

In line four, after the word "forty," insert "three."

In line seven, after the word "State," insert "to Alexan-
der B. Hagner the sum of forty-seven dollars and seventy-
two cents, for costs paid by him in the case of John Cochran,
and of A. B. Hagner vs. the State.

To Joseph J. Steuart the sum of thirty-seven dollars for
services as chief clerk at a former session of the House of Del-
egate.

To John T. Wright, the sum of six dollars, for washing
eight dozen towles for the Senate Camber.

To Lewis Goutee, the sum of twenty dollars and sixty
cents, for repairing furniture in the Hall of the House of
Delegates.
