introduce a bill supplemental to an act entitled, an act for the
better regulation of officer's fees in Somerset county.

Mr. Dail presented a petition from citizens of Talbot, Dor-
chester and Caroline counties, for a law to prohibit persons
from staking out nets in Choptank river;

Which was referred to the Talbot, Dorchester and Caro-
line county delegations.

The bill entitled, an act to provide for the recording, in-
dexing and binding of the proceedings of the late High Court
of Chancery;

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Rogers proposed the following amendment:

Add at the end of section 2, " And provided, also, that
such sum or sums shall not exceed in amount two thousand
dollars; which sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary
is hereby appropriated for the aforesaid purposes to be paid
out of any moneys in the Treasury, not otherwise appro-
priated;

Which was assented to.

Mr. Mackubin proposed the following amendments:

Strike out all after the word "Maryland," in 1st line of
section 2, to the word "all," in 4th line "that the keeper of
the records of the Court of Chancery be, and he is hereby di-
rected, in addition to the duties now required of him by law,
to record."

Strike out all after the word "unrecorded," in line 5, to the
end of the section;

Which were assented to.

Mr. Hobbs moved to strike out the enacting clause of the
said bill,

Which was assented to.
On motion of Mr. Contee,

The rules were suspended and he offered the following or-
der:

Ordered, That the committee on Claims be directed to al-
low Mr. John H. Sleymaker, from the day of his appoint-
ment, a per diem of one dollar for his services in hoisting the
"American Flag" from the dome of the State House, as per
order of the State Librarian.

Mr. Koons moved to lay said order on the table.
Which was determined in the negative.
