The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act to provide for the representation of
the State by counsel, in certain cases now pending in the
Court of Appeals, on appeal from the criminal court of Bal-
timore city, arising under the license laws of this State, and
appropriating a sum of money to pay the person whom the
Governor may employ as counsel, for his services in such ca-
ses;

Endorsed "rejected."

A bill entitled, an act to lay out and establish a new elec-
tion district in Dorchester county, to be called election dis-
trict number twelve, or Williamsburg district;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

A bill entitled, an act to refund to Amos Osborn, collec-
tor of the second election district in Harford county, George
D. Claytor, collector of the second election district in Anne
Arundel county, Skipiorth C. Gorrell, collector of the sec-
ond election district in Harford county, certain moneys paid
by them into the Treasury of Maryland;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

A bill entitled, an act to appoint an additional Constable,
in election district number two, in Worcester county;

Endorsed, ''passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Maryland Life and
Fire Insurance Company:

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Old Town Savings
Institution;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays,"

A bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from John
Lewis attorney of Mary Turner, to Adam Holt;

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the Comptroller of the
State, to pay the balance of pension therein mentioned;
