The Speaker sustained the point of order, and decided the
resolutions out of order.

Mr. Belt appealed from the decision of the chair ;

The question then being "shall the decision of the chair be

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, that the
Governor is hereby requested to furnish to Andrew H. Baker,
President of Calvert College, at New Windsor, in Carroll
county, forty rifles and all necessary accoutrements, including
side arms, for the use of the students at said College ;

Which was read.

On motion of Mr. Wickes,

Leave was granted to the Kent county delegation, to in-
troduce a bill to establish and locate a New School District in
Second Election District of Kent county;

Mr. Thomas, from the committee on Pensions, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act for the benefit of Eliza
