Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Crowley,

Leave was granted the Baltimore city delegation to intro-
duce a bill for the better regulation of the sale of fresh meats
in the city of Baltimore.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. McGonigal,

Leave was granted to the Caroline county delegation to in-
troduce a bill to authorise the Orphans' Court for Caroline
county, to appoint a Board of Examiners for applicants for
Primary School Teachers.

On motion of Mr. Mackubin,

Leave was granted the Anne Arundel county delegation,
to bring in a bill to exempt from taxation for State, city or
county purposes, the property of the various Churches in the
city of Annapolis ;

On motion of Mr. Thruston,

Leave was granted to the committee on Claims to bring in
a bill to refund to William Broadwaters, money paid by him
into the Treasury.

On motion of Mr. McKinstry,

Leave was granted the Carroll county delegation, to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate Uniontown, in Carroll county.

On motion of Mr. Welling,

Leave was granted to the committee on Judiciary, to intro-
duce a bill to authorise the removal of criminal cases from
the Criminal Court of Baltimore city to the Circuit Court of
Howard county.

On motion of Mr. Belt,

Leave was granted to the Montgomery, Howard and Prince
George's county delegations, to introduce a bill to provide for
the survey of the boundary lines between Prince George's
county, and the counties of Howard and Montgomery.

Mr. Grieves presented a petition from Thomas J. Brom-
well and thirty-seven other citizens of Tobacco Stick, Dor-
chester county, asking further legislation on the subject of
assault and battery;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Kidd presented a petition from Edward Bradley and
thirty other citizens of Cecil county, praying the passage of
an act to establish a uniform system of common schools in
said county; also,
