Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read a first time, and referred to the committee
on Corporations.

A bill entitled, an act to regulate the fees of the notaries
publics of Kent, Cecil, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Washington
and Caroline counties;

Was read the first time, and referred to the committee on
Ways and Means.

A bill entitled, an act to continue in force the act passed at
January session, 1852, chapter 316; also, the act passed Jan-
uary session, 1854, chapter 56, relating to the appointment
of a Commissioner to take testimony to perpetuate the lost
records of Dorchester county;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays ;"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Dorches-
ter county delegation.

A bill entitled, an act to allow Geo. Davis, of Kent county,
Delaware, to work his slaves on his lands in Cecil county,
Maryland, from time to time;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"

Which was read a first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Colored Population.

Also, returned the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act to empower the trustees of the
school commonly called the Tan Yard School, in School Dis-
trict No. 25, in the Fourth Election District in Caroline coun-
ty to change the location of the school house appertaining to
said school;

Endorsed, "read a third time, and the enacting clause
stricken out."

A bill entitled, an act to prevent persons selling or ped-
dling of carriages, hacks, gigs and buggy wagons, in Wor-
cester county, not manufactured in the State of Maryland;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays. "

A bill entitled, an act authorising the Governor to appoint
four inspectors and measurers in the city of Baltimore, of all
manures heretofore sold by the cart load, provide for their
compensation, and determine what quantity shall constitute
a cart load;

"Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

The bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Maryland
Mutual Insurance Company of Baltimore;
