to introduce a bill to provide for the appointment of an assis-
tant to the State Librarian and fix his compensation ;
On motion of Mr. Riddlemoser,

Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation,
to introduce a bid, an act in addition to an act passed at Jan-
uary session 1853, chapter 249, entitled, an act to incorporate
a company to construct a turnpike road from Hagerstown in
Washington county, to make an additional subscription to
the capital stock of said company.

Leave was granted to the Cecil county delegation, to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate the Port Hermar and Delaware Rail-
road Company;

On motion of Mr. Riddlemoser,

Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation,
to introduce a bill increasing the premium on fox scalps in
Washington county Maryland, to two dollars;

Leave was granted to the Frederick county delegation, to
introduce a bill to provide for the appointment of an additional
justice of the peace in the 15th Election District of Frederick
county;

On motion of Mr. Magruder,

Leave was granted to the committee on Education, to in-
troduce a bill to apply to the support of Common Schools,
the amount of money received on account of the interest upon
the claim of the State against the General Government, for
money advanced by the State during the late war with Eng-
land;

introduce a bill to change the name of Lucretia Smitson to
