A bill entitled, an act for the benefit of Catharine Wistel,
widow of Robert Purtle, a soldier of the Maryland line dur-
ing the Revolution;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled, an act allowing a pension to Esther Wil-
liams, widow of Henry Williams, a soldier of the Maryland
line during the Revolutionary War, and appropriating a sum
of money for the payment thereof;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;" also, delivered,
A bill entitled, an act for the improvement of the town of
Denton, in Caroline county, and for other purposes;
Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays:"

Which was read a first time, and referred to the Caroline
county delegation; also,

A bill entitled, an act to refund to Wm. W. Johnson, cer-
tain moneys erroneously paid by him into the Treasury;

Which was read a first time, and referred to the committee
on Claims; also,

A bill entitled, an act to make valid a certain deed of mort-
gage from Christian Book, and Susannah Book, his wife, to
John A. Brown;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays;"
Which was read a first time, and referred to the committee
on Judiciary.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act for the relief of Geo. Finley, former
collector of State taxes of Queen Anne's county;

"Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled, an act for the increase of the capital stock
of the Powhattan Steamboat Company of Baltimore city;
Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."
