Hobbs, Hanway, Bacon, Baker, Todd, Stirling, McPherson,
Smith, of Baltimore city, Kennard, Lynch, of Baltimore city,
Harrington, Crowley, Forrest, Alexander, Summers, Schneb-
bley, Riddlemoser, Duvall, Worthington, Kilgour, Barnard,
Reindollar, Day and Dorsey.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.

Mr. Wickes presented a petition from C. R. Hackett and
twenty-one other citizens of Kent county, against the pur-
chase of the bridge at Chestertown, by Kent and Queen
Anne's counties;

Which was referred to the Kent and Queen Anne's county
delegations.

Mr. Worthington presented a petition from L. S. Hipsley.
and thirty others, asking for an additional justice of the
peace for Medley's District in Montgomery county;

Which was referred to the Montgomery county delegation.

Mr. Grieves presented a petition from Thomas J. Bowen, ask-
ing an act of incorporation of a company to aid in promoting
colonization and commerce in Central Africa;

Which was referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Harrington presented a petition from the American
Tract Society, &c., to be released from collateral inheritance
tax;

Which was referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Todd presented a petition from James E. Douglass and
thirty-two others, citizens of Caroline county, asking for an
appropriation from the State, for educational purposes;

Which was referred to the Caroline county delegation.

Mr. Koons presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Frederick county, praying the passage of an act creating an
additional justice of the peace in the Fifteenth Election Dis-
trict of said county;

Which was referred to the Frederick county delegation.

Mr. Meginnis presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Kent county, against a free bridge across Chester river at
Chestertown;

Which was referred to the Kent county delegation.

Mr. Hobbs presented a petition from P. G. House and forty-
eight other citizens of Frederick county, praying the passage
of an act making it obligatory on the clerk of Frederick
county to require an applicant for a license to sell spirituous
or malt liquors, to be recommended by at least twelve of his
nearest neighbors, who shall be freeholders.
