county to re-survey the public roads in said county, and to re-
move obstructions therefrom.
On motion of Mr. Mackubin,
Leave was granted the Anne Arundel county delegation,
to bring in a bill to authorise the Commissioners of Anne
Arundel county to levy a tax on the assessable property of
said county, for the purpose of repairing and adding to the
Alms-house.
Mr. Rogers offered the following order:
Ordered, That in honor of this day, the anniversary of the
birth-day of George Washington, the Father of his Country,
and to keep ever before every citizen of Maryland the me-
mory of that greatest of men and chief agent in achieving
that independence, and securing those blessings, which we
now enjoy, this House do now adjourn until to-morrow at 11
o'clock.
Mr. Stirling proposed the following substitute:
Ordered, That in the opinion of this House, a proper regard
for the character and example of the Father of his Country,
requires the House to attend this day to the public business ;
