458             JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 19,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Stirling, Alexander, Crow-
ley, Kennard and Forrest, to introduce a bill to compensate
Wm. C. Cunningham, Wm. D. Grim, John L. Herring,
James L. Dorsey, James H. Stone, Chas. A. Talbott, Benj.
Dyer and Chas. H. Brown, agents for the collection of State
taxes in arrears in the city of Baltimore.

The Speaker laid before the House the statement of the rev-
enue and expenses of the Annapolis and Elkridge Railroad
Company, for the month ending 30th September, 1850;

Which was referred to the committee on Internal Improve-
ments.

Mr. Dail, from the committee on Claims, reported favora-
bly on the Senate bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of
money in payment for legal services rendered by Brice J.
Goldsborough, at the request of the Governor of this State;
also,

Favorably on the bill entitled, an act to compensate Chas.
J. M. Gwinn, for cases argued in the Court of Appeals, un-
der the direction of the Governor of Maryland;

Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on a bill entitled, an act to compensate R. S.
Reeder, for the trial of certain cases in the Court of Appeals,
as counsel on the part of the State, by appointment of the
Governor;

Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on a bill entitled, an act to refund to Amos Os-
born, Collector of the Second Election District, in Harford
county; George D. Claytor, Collector of the Second Election
District of Anne Arundel county; Skipiorth C. Gorrell, Col-
lector of the Second Election District in Harford county, cer-
tain moneys overpaid by them into the Treasury of Mary-
land;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Harrington from the committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate
the Monumental Steam Towing Company of Baltimore;

Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Co-
lumbia Lodge No. 58, of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons
of Frederick county;

Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on the bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act
amendatory of an act, passed at January session, 1853, chapter
363, entitled, an act incorporating the Western Maryland Rail
Road Company;
