Mr. Ford, of Baltimore county, presented a petition from
Lemuel Offutt and eighty-nine, others, citizens of Baltimore
county, for a bridge over the Patapsco river at Woodstock;

Which was referred to the Howard and Baltimore county
delegations.

Mr. Ford, of Cecil, presented a petition from E. L. Lewis,
John W. Jackson, John Gamble, and twenty-seven other citi-
zens of Cecil county, praying for the passage of an act to es-
tablish a uniform system of Common Schools in Cecil county;

Which was referred to the committee on Education.

Mr. Davis presented a petition from Wm. A. Miller, E. W.
Mahony, Isaac B. Brist, and twenty-five other citizens of Cecil
county, in favor of a uniform system of Common Schools for
said county ;

Which was referred to the committee on Education.

Mr. Stirling presented the memorial of sundry merchants
of Baltimore, in regard to the agencies of Foreign Insurance
Companies;

Which was referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Alexander presented a memorial of Harlow W. Heath,
President of Newton University, protesting against the re-
peal of the act of Incorporation of said University ;

Which was referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Meginnis presented a petition from Thomas C. Lynch
and one hundred other citizens of Kent county, against the
Bridge at Chestertown, being made free to the citizens of
Kent and Queen Anne's counties ;
delegation.

Mr. Rogers presented a memorial of A. E. Warner, Presi-
dent, and Nicholas Brewer, Secretary of the Association of
"the Defenders of Baltimore in 1814," praying the passage
of a Resolution to request the Senators and Representatives
in Congress from this State, to use all proper exertions to
secure the passage of an act of Congress granting pensions to
the soldiers and officers of the war of 1812 ;

Which was referred to the committee on Pensions.
