The said bill was then sent to the Senate.

The bill entitled, an act to authorise the Commissioners of
Allegany county, to reduce the assessment of a tract of land
in said county ;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to exempt the Parsonage property
now belonging to the Methodist Protestant Church, situated
in Uniontown, Carroll county, from taxation ;

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Stirling proposed the following amendment:

Add to section 1, "provided that this exemption shall con-
tinue so long as said property shall be used for Church pur-
poses;"

Which was assented to, and the bill was ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

On motion of Mr. McKinstry,

The rules were suspended and said bill, was read the third
time by special order, and passed by yeas and nays as follow:
