402              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 16,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to amend and remedy defects in an
act, passed January session, 1856, chapter 154, entitled, an
act to simplify and abridge the rules and forms of convey
ance;

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Magruder, proposed the following amendment:

At the end of section 3, add "and that all bills of sale,
which have been executed since the passage of said act, with-
out such affidavit by the grantee, as to the consideration, be,
and the same are hereby made as valid and effectual, as if the
said affidavit had been made;"

Which was assented to,

And the bill as amended, was then read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to allow acknowledgments of deeds
and other instruments to be made before clerks of Courts,
Register of Wills and other officers;

Was taken up for consideration, and pending its second
reading,

On motion of Mr. Alexander,

Said bill was made the order of the day, for Monday, March
first.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the day,

The House took up for consideration, the bill entitled, an
act to incorporate the Green Spring avenue company;

Said bill being upon its second reading,

Mr. Rogers, proposed the following amendment:

"Strike out the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth
lines of section 1st," and insert "on the north side of the
Woodberry Factory road, at the distance of five hundred
yards from the Reistertown Turnpike road, and on the premi-
ises of C. B. Keyworth, at the intersection of the same, with
said Woodberry road, and thence through said Keyworth's
land, to F. Mayer's land;"

Pending the consideration of said amendment,
On motion, the House adjourned.
