394           JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS         [Feb. 16,

On motion of Mr. Thruston,

Leave was granted the committee on Judiciary, to bring in
a bill to enable John Beall and George A. Pearre, trustees of
the Mineral Bank of Maryland, to wind up and close their
trust as expeditiously as may be, and to protect them in so
doing.

On motion of Mr. Stirling,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations, to in-
troduce a bill supplementary to the act incorporating the Bal-
timore Copper Smelting Company, passed December session,
1849.

On motion of Mr. Reindollar,

Leave was granted the Carroll county delegation, to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate Mount Union Church, in Carroll
county.

On motion of Mr. Worthington,

Leave was granted the Montgomery county delegation, to
introduce a bill to amend an act, passed December session,
1849, chapter 358, entitled, an act to incorporate the Union
Plank Road and Turnpike Company,

Mr. Alexander, chairman of the committee on Judiciary,
reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to authorize James
A. Thomas, a free negro of St. Mary's county, to dispose of
his real and personal estate, by last will and testament, or
alienate the same by deed or other conveyance;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Goldsborough from the committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the
Chesapeake Marine Railway Company of Annapolis ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Dail. from the majority of the committee on Elections,
made the following,

REPORT.

The undersigned a majority of the committee on Elections,
beg leave to report, that they have examined the returns of
the judges of elections of the several counties, and the city of
Baltimore, and find the following persons duly elected as
members of the House of Delegates, for the constitutional
term of two years, commencing on the 4th day of November,
eighteen hundred and fifty-seven, to wit:

Saint Mary's county—George H. Morgan, Robert Neal,
Esqr's.

Kent county—Charles H. Wickes, Nathaniel Meginnis,
Esqr's,
