302             JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS          [Feb. 9,

REPORT:

The committee on Printing, beg leave to report that they
have contracted with Thomas J. Wilson, of Annapolis, for
the printing of five hundred copies of the Journal of Proceed-
ings and accompanying Documents; and 130 copies of all Bills
and Reports ordered to be printed; as also all other and fur-
ther printing that shall be required by the House of Delegates,
upon the following terms, to wit:—For the Journal of Pro-
ceedings, the sum of one dollar and fifty cents per page, of
1450 ems; for the accompanying Documents, one dollar and
fifty cents per page of 1450 ems; for all Bills and Reports,
the sum of one dollar per page? and for all tabular work,
double the above prices. The said Thomas J. Wilson has
further stipulated and agreed to furnish daily, in accordance
with the Act of 1853, chapter 36, one hundred and thirty
copies of the daily morning Journal, for which he shall re-
ceive no compensation—and the said Thomas J. Wilson has
further stipulated to execute and furnish all of said printing
within thirty days after the adjournment of the present ses-
sion of the General Assembly. The committee further re-
port, that the said Thomas J. Wilson has entered into bond
to the State of Maryland, in the sum of one thousand dollars,
conditioned for the proper and faithful performance of his
contract.

The committee further report, that they have also contract-
ed with Nicholas Brewer, of Jno., for the preparation of an
Index to the Journal of the House of Delegates, for the sum
of two hundred dollars—the same to be placed in the hands
of the printer within ten days after the adjournment of the
Legislature.

on the bill entitled, an act to prevent free negroes or slaves,
from having or using boats on the Potomac River;

Mr. Hobbs, from a select committee, reported favorably on
a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the American Band, of
Frederick city ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Hobbs from a select committee reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act authorising Nicholas Norris, of Frederick
county, executor of Amos Norris, to execute a deed to Israel
Norris, for a tract of land now held by bond of conveyance
from said Amos Norris ;

Which was read the first time.
