On motion of Mr. Duvall,

Leave was granted to the committee on Judiciary, to intro-
duce a bill for an uniform per diem rate of payment to the
Commissioners of the several counties of this State.

On motion of Mr. Waller,

Leave was granted to the Somerset delegation, to introduce
a bill to provide for an additional Constable in Election Dis-
trict No. 4, of Somerset county.

On motion of Mr. Crowley,

Leave was granted to the committee on Currency, to intro-
duce a bill relating to the Banks of the city of Baltimore, in
this State.

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Baltimore county,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore and Harford county
delegations, to introduce a bill for the better protection of
sheep in Baltimore county.

On motion of Mr. Harrington,

Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill for the incorporation of the Minor's Saving
Bank, in the city of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Todd,

Leave was granted to the Caroline county delegation, to
introduce a bill authorising the Register of Wills, for Caro-
line county, to have certain record books repaired.

On motion of Mr. McGonigal,

Leave was granted to the Caroline county delegation, to
introduce a bill to make valid a deed from John Stafford and
wife, to Richard J. Draper.

Mr. Mackubin, from the committee on Inspections, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act authorizing the Governor
to appoint four Inspectors and Measurers for the city of Balti-
more, of all manures heretofore sold by the cart load; provide
for their compensation, and determine what quantity shall con-
stitute a cart load;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Magruder, from the committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act for the amendment of the
law in mandamus cases ;

Mr. Magruder, from the committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act to release W. O. Reeder,
of St. Mary's county, from a judgment in favor of the State
of Maryland, confessed by him as security for William Reeder,
late of said county, deceased;
