hundred copies of A. B. Cross' memorial;

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore county, moved that the House ad-
journ ;

Determined in the negative.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day ;

The House took up for consideration the bill entitled an act
to interpret and define the meaning of word "Resident," as
used in article 1, section 1, of the Constitution of Maryland ;

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,

The House resolved itself into a committee of the whole, for
the consideration of said bill;

Mr. Dail in the chair.

After sometime spent in committee of the whole, the Speaker
resumed the chair, and,

Mr. Dail, chairman of the committee of the whole, reported
that the committee had had under consideration the bill en-
titled, an act to interpret and define the meaning of the word
