Which was read the first time, and referred to the committee
on Ways and Means.

Mr. Stirling, from a special committee, made the following

REPORT:

The joint special committee, appointed to examine into the
condition and exigencies of the Maryland Hospital respect-
fully report that they have visited the Hospital, and having
carefully investigated its condition and wants, present a bill
embodying the views of the committee.

Samuel S. McMasters,
Anthony Kimmell,
Oscar Miles,
Committee on part of the Senate.

Mr. Stirling, from a select committee, reported favorably
on a bill entitled, an act for the relief of the Maryland Hos-
pital,

Which was read the first time ;
On motion of Mr. Mackubin,

A call of the House was ordered, when it was found that
thirty-nine members were present.

On motion of Mr. Alexander,
Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.

Mr. Stirling from a select committee reported favorably on
a bill entitled an act to simplify and amend the law of Eject-
ment ;

Which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Stirling,

The 46th rule of the House was suspended and said bill
was ordered not to be printed.

Mr. Harrington from the committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the
Maryland Mutual Insurance Company of Baltimore.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Alexander, from the committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act to confirm and make valid
a deed from John S. Hawkins and Augusta A. Hawkins, his
wife to Henry A. Barron.
