Which was read;

And the invitation contained therein, was accepted.

The Speaker laid before the House a memorial of Joseph A.
Dugdale and others, of Chester county Pennsylvania, in relation
to free negroes;

Which was referred to the committee on the Colored Population,
hereafter to be appointed.

On motion of Mr. Magruder,
The message of the Executive was rend.

On motion of Mr. Sterling,

That portion of the documents accompanying the message from
the Executive relating to the correspondence between the Gover-
nor and the Mayor of Baltimore city, was read.

Mr. Macubin, of Anne Arundel, offered the following order:

Ordered, That ten thousand copies of the Governor's message,
with the accompanying correspondence between His Excellency
and the Mayor of Baltimore, be printed for the use of this
House.

Mr. Sterling moved the following substitute :

Ordered, That for the present one hundred copies of the Gov-
ernor's message, and the accompanying documents, be printed
for the use of the members of this House

Mr. Harrington moved the previous question.

The question being, "shall the main question be now put."

The ayes and nays being demanded, appeared as follows :
