FRIDAY, February 5, 1858.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Veitch.

Present at the call of the roll, the following members:

Messrs. Berry, Sp'r, Morgan, Neale, Wickes, Meginnis,
Tongue, Mackubin, Kilbourn, Griffiss, Magruder, Stonestreet,
Walker, Allender, Ford, of Baltimore county, Lynch, of Bal-
timore county, Smith, of Baltimore county, Goldsborough,
Waller, Moore, Sudler, of Somerset, Tilghman, Richardson,
Davis, Ford, of Cecil, Belt, Wyville, Contee, Larrimore,
Landing, Harding, Bowlus, Root, Hanway, Bacon, Baker,
Stirling, Rogers, McPherson, Smith, of Baltimore city, Lynch,
of Baltimore city, Harrington, Crowley, Alexander, Gray,
Duvall, Worthington, Kilgour, McKinstry, Reindollar, Day,
Welling and Dorsey.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bill:

A bill entitled a further supplement to an act to incorpo-
rate the, Dulaney's Valley and Towsontown Turnpike Com-
pany, in Baltimore county,

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ments."

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED :

Strike out "title," and substitute "An act to amend an act
entitled, an act to incorporate the Dulaney's Valley and Tow-
sontown Turnpike Company, in Baltimore county, passed
January session, 1856, chapter 24."

Section 1. After "supplement," add "provided that the
said roads, at all times, be kept on a level or same grade
with the main bed or centre of said road."

Pending the consideration of said amendment,

Mr. Ford, of Baltimore county, proposed the following
message :

House of Delegates,

February 5, 1858.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We herewith send back to your honorable body, a bill en-
titled, "An act to amend the Dulaney's Valley and Towson-
town Turnpike Company, passed at the session of 1856, Ch.
24," and respectfully ask your honorable body to correct a
clerical error in your proposed amendments.
